Salisbury's take on the familiar message is: Cycle with care for pedestrians at all times. It'd be nice if motorists could be given equally strict orders where their routes merge with cycle routes.

Car storage has priority over cycle access to this path.

When it has to be spelt out like that you can tell there's suppressed demand, and sure enough I sure a number of sheepish riders on there over the weekend of our stay.

There's no connection between the A4 and NCN route 403 - but a short stretch of footpath could be upgraded.

To the left is the exit from Bowood House - the entry is another mile down the road. It'd be great if cycles could enter here, to encourage staff to commute from Calne by bike - it would also be possible to put in a very short shared-use li ... [more]

Cycleway closed EVERY Thursday in winter - presumably to stop it becoming a right of winter, although I think just one overnight closure a year is needed. They probably don't actually close it, of course.

Steepish rise for NCN route 403 crossing the A4 - there's an informal path down to the A4 on the left, but no other link.
